Whose Side Are You On?

We were on our way to church and my mom, and I began talking about health issues and life choices. I was telling her about how I needed to make some changes in my life. She showed me her pinky finger and told me about how it became crooked. She said that the medical professionals told her what to do, but she never did it. Then when we got to church the preacher talked about choices, and how the decisions we make will either lead to blessings or consequences. One thing I’m a firm believer of is that God will always send signs and give instruction before destruction.

Someone recently told me that, “The devil owns the fence.” Which putting it simply means, there’s no middle with God, you are either completely on His side or not. We can’t keep saying that we belong to God but are still living in ways that speak differently, because eventually the truth will come to surface. Some of us are already reaping from some of the bad choices that we’ve made. However, while this may be true, understand that God still loves you and desires for you to repent and change your ways. There’s nothing or no one too crooked that He can’t make straight. God has given you a free will to choose what side you’ll stand on. Will you choose the side that leads to life or the one that leads to death?

““Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.””

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭30‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent.”

‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18‬:‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

““You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NLT‬

“This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all. But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life. All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen.”

‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬
