There was a man in the Bible named Shimei. One day King David and his men were passing through a certain place and Shimei began cursing him and throwing stones at him and his men. Then Abishai, one of his men, asked David if he was going to let him disrespect him like that and asked if he could go kill him. David told him listen, if God allowed him to come for me then let him be, I'm going to let God deal with him. Shimei continued with his insults and they walked away going on their journey to the next place.
Has your name been slandered? Have people dealt harshly with you for no reason at all? Have you got what some would say was karma? If so, I want you to be encouraged in the fact that it had to go by God first and he allowed it to happen. While you may not understand why, don't let it cause you to jump ship or retaliate. You cannot allow yourself to slow up progress because of what others are doing or saying. You must learn to ignore them, keep on moving and let God deal with them. Victory tastes much sweeter when you trust God and allow him to fight for you.
"....Leave him alone and let him curse, for the LORD has told him to do it. And perhaps the LORD will see that I am being wronged and will bless me because of these curses today." 2 Samuel 16:11-12 (NLT)
"But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive." Genesis 50:20 (KJV)
"Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, "I will take revenge; I will pay them back," says the LORD." Romans 12:19 (NLT)
