Are You Too Anxious

One of the most challenging things for me to do is to wait. When God tells or shows me something that I am going to do or receive, I immediately start going to work on the outcome. While there’s nothing completely wrong with that, it is wrong if I move forward without a go from God. My excitement and anxiousness about it gets in the way and often leads to much disappointment. I am steady learning how to be still and move at the pace that God has set for my life. It’s hard but possible when I slow down and trust God in and through the process.

Are you overexcited or anxious about something that God showed you or told you that you would do or have? Take a moment right now to pull back, breathe and reset your mind. If God said it, then He is going to make sure that it happens for and through you. We sometimes mess things up and slow things down when we jump in and try to help God. He doesn’t need our help, He desires our obedience and cooperation. Now don’t get me wrong, faith without works won’t produce any work or progress. All I’m trying to say is that don’t allow yourself to get anxious to where you move ahead or behind of God’s set time for you to do so. Taking matters into your own hands could possibly bring about some serious consequences, discomfort or even overextend your stay in places. Calm down and wait for further instructions on what to do with what God has revealed to you.

As we take matters into our hands it brings

Negative consequences, delay and

Xtra time of our stay

In places, which causes us to miss

Opportunities and could

Ultimately lead to

Sin because we couldn’t wait on God

“Then the Lord said to him, “No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.” Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭15‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“So Sarai said to Abram, “The Lord has prevented me from having children. Go and sleep with my servant. Perhaps I can have children through her.” And Abram agreed with Sarai’s proposal. So Abram had sexual relations with Hagar, and she became pregnant. But when Hagar knew she was pregnant, she began to treat her mistress, Sarai, with contempt. Then Sarai said to Abram, “This is all your fault! I put my servant into your arms, but now that she’s pregnant she treats me with contempt. The Lord will show who’s wrong—you or me!” Abram replied, “Look, she is your servant, so deal with her as you see fit.” Then Sarai treated Hagar so harshly that she finally ran away.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭16‬:‭2‬, ‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭36‬ ‭NLT‬‬
